    No, it's not really a debate between the two of them. I'm definitely planning to get a Mac, thing I'd like to know, with the Mac hardware, how much would I pay for a PC that could deliver around the same performance. I used to know my way around hardware but that was well over 5 years ago.

    I'm looking at this iMac:

    21.5-Inch

    2.5GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
    1920 x 1080 resolution
    4GB (two 2GB) memory (most likely DDR3 no?)
    500GB hard drive1
    AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 512MB

    I'm going to do some more research on the internet, but I'd like to know if I could build a PC as powerful as this for cheaper. This iMac is 1,199$. I'm almost positive I could build myself a custom computer that would likely cost me 900-1000$ if I look at the right places.

    Thanks for your answers. Also, how is the graphic card compared to the rest out there?

    Both have their perk. I personally have a Mac but on my Mac I also run Windows. I prefer the Mac for my daily duties and I prefer the Windows because it can run games.

    Macs are not fun.
    I think you have to be a Mac person to enjoy Mac. It's a little more complicated than PC and PC has a more simple look that anyone can enjoy.

    I do not like Mac.

    Looking up, by this I mean the software of course. Apple vs Windows.

    PC as in Windows or personal computers in general (Macs are personal computer too, but I get what you're saying). Software wise I have to say windows is much worse with security, but that's mainly due to Windows' high market share which leads to a ton of hackers trying to exploit Windows. Hardware wise most of the time they're equivalent because you can just upgrade the macs yourself with hardware you buy. However, PCs (in general not including macs) are generally cheaper buy a long shot, because of all the competition for the PC market (not including macs). But since Macs don't have any "Mac" competition Apple charges a lot more for it than they should. Also Mac is a lot more restrictive about what you can do on it.
