#1 Aint Blind Yet (Squad 2 Meet Up) on Wed Sep 19, 2018 7:31 am

Shana was back in her role as captain of Squad 2, while her powers were a bit flashier than one would think when they think of stealth and information gathering, but she was good at what she did, and quite more powerful than her diminutive form would bely. But her rank spoke of that, as the head captain of a squad of her own, and as such. She called a meeting of the more noticeable members of her squad, not only to fill them in on what their duties were going to be, but to see what each one of them was going to do.

Because the meeting was going to involve some sparring, she had called for it to occur in the Squad 2 training grounds, More specifically in a building on the southern edge, this building was one of the newer creations of the R+D Department, a simulation room, where through the manipulation of Reishi particles, and reiryoku they can create a simulated field of battle, of any size, shape, or style, from the tundra, to the amazon, even hueco mundo if they so desired.

That wasn't all the room could do, the gotei could also program in various opponents that would be created and used for training purposes, but that little feature would be one used at a later date.

Shana arrived a good thirty minutes before the scheduled time to warm up a bit but she found that she wasn't alone, a familiar silver haired young man was already waiting, with the room set to simulate the redwood forest of California, with trees far to thick to cut through casting shadows everywhere, a kunai in his hand.

~~~
Kirou didn't have any duties yet, so when he received word of the meeting being called by his new boss, he just made his way to the training grounds to put in some practice before what he figured might be a long boring talk. He and his Zanpakuto, Nobu hadn't exactly ever got along, especially after learning and mastering the art of Shunko. Granted not everyone knew about that little trick of his.
Jack walked through the... the streets... the halls... the paths, the paths of the Seireitei, having received a message from her new captain to meet up for something. The message hadn't said what they would be doing, but the young Shinigami assumed it would have something to do with the assignment of duties. She didn't know exactly what they might entail, but given how they were the Sight of the Gotei 6, it would probably have to do with scouting and information gathering. Either way, whatever she was assigned, she would endeavor to complete to the best of her abilities. In other words, she did not plan on failing her assignments.
Realizing she would be late unless she hurries along, Jack started to use Shunpo to reach the training ground for the Sight. When she arrived, she would see she was the third one there. Her expression never changing and showing no emotion, the woman stepped forward, towards the other two. Unlike them, she forsook the Shinigami uniform for her own preference of clothing. A sleeveless black shirt and black jeans with nothing on her feet, making her steps silent as they carefully tread along the surface of the ground, and her zanpaktou hanging from her waist. Her eyes scanned their surroundings, taking in the trees and the way the sun made it's way through their branches. This place was definitely interesting. Turning her eyes back to the two in front of her, she gave them a respectful bow before straitening back up, watching them closely.
Shana looked up as the door opened again, a white haired young woman both taller and older looking, than Shana herself, not that it takes much on either part seeing as she is 4'8" and looks 12, but that is neither here nor there. "Welcome to the Sight, shall we wait to see if anyone else is going to decide to join us or shall we get started now"
The piercing gaze of Shana's scarlet eyes locked on Jackie's, a smile spreading across Shana's face, she could be intimidating when she tried to be, but she didn't want to be now, so she looked more like an innocent little girl than the vicious warrior that she was.
Kirou would just shrug, he didn't care one way or another, he had been around the block once or twice. He had a rough idea what the goals of the squad was, he was here back when there were thirteen squads, and knew the jobs of each of the squads that were merged into the new squad 2. Including manning the Maggots Nest, spying on enemies and gathering intel, assassinating troublesome targets, and running messages across the squads.
He was also pretty sure that the little red head was probably going to want see what her soldiers can do, that is normal for leaders in the Gotei after all.
"Didn't see anyone coming. Likely just us. Could be wrong." Jack said, showing her rather short way of speaking. Each sentence, if one wanted to call them that. While she talked, she took the time to carefully examine the two in front of her. The one that had welcomed her had to look of a red-headed child but in the Soul Society, appearances really meant nothing. You could be several centuries old but still have the appearance of someone only a decade old. The fact that the child was stronger then her appearance suggested was backed up by the captain's coat she was wearing. That meant that Jack was looking at her current boss, not counting the captain of the first squad. Something about being commanded by a child was both vexing and comforting at the same time. The mixed feeling irritated her slightly but she didn't give even the slightest hint of this irritation.
The other person in the room appeared to be a male, who was dressed in what she recognized to be the outfit for the Punishment Force. She herself had no interest in the uniform, as while she understood why it looked the way it did, she had no interest in looking like a ninja. Sure, she generally tried to fight like one, but otherwise she had no interest in the role. Her eyes fell on the kunai in his hands. She guess that it was likely his zanpaktou, though it was probably sealed, so whether it would keep that form or not was up in the air. So for now, she made it a point to learn as much as she could about this man during this little meeting.
Shana would shrug at the news she knew that the squads were still in the process of reassembling, after being reworked a bit, so the rest of the seated positions may not have been fully filled yet, but that will be fixed all in due time. "Well I think I should start with a brief run down of our roles and responsibilities among the Shinigami of the Gotei. I am not sure how familiar you are with the way the Gotei used to be structured, back when we supported 13 different squads, each one taking up a different role in the stability and functionality of us as a whole. Our current Squad 2, also known as The Sight, is an amalgamation of the previous squads 2 and 3."
Shana took a breath before continuing, she figured that this was going to be the best way to describe their roles now. "Well the previous squad two was in charge of capture, imprisonment, assassination, and delivering messages across the Gotei. The main tools of their trade, was speed and stealth, doing things quickly without drawing any attention to themselves. The previous squad 3 was in charge of the gathering and dissemination of information, basically the spy squad. Our new leaders have determined that these two squads would do a better job if they were one, but with the merger came the requirement for a slight restructuring of the squad's, so now we have two Captains and vice captains per squad."
Putting her hands behind her head, and smiling sweetly and cocking her head to one side she would let that sink in before finishing up what she was going to say, "Now before we get to the Questions, why don't we see what everyone can do properly, the files I was given on you two covered the gist, but that doesn't really tell me how you use your abilities, or really how good they are."
~~
Kirou would stand in silence as the fiery little red head explained their squad, granted he himself had been around long enough to know all of that already, in fact he had spent quite alot of time in the former squad 2, and more specifically in the Maggots Nest that they were in charge of. He was not the least bit surprised when His new boss suggested a show and tell session, well more show then tell. Shrugging he would only say "Makes sense, that we need to know what we each can do"
At the training grounds, Riku had prepared everything. Large stumps and boulders littered the field. Assuming, of course, that Shana didn't want to use the simulator. He walked in, all five feet and four inches of him, to see Shana and two others. "The training grounds are ready if you don't want to use the simulator." He was the sub-captain of the squad. Riku Tomoshibi. A blue eyed, blond haired little thing that could be mistaken for a middle schooler or a freshman in high school. But the general feeling he gave off was that of an older brother. Kind and supportive. But the reality was he could hold his own against the strongest of them. And he wasn't one to be underestimated. He wasn't much for speed, but he was a jack of all trades. If it didn't need him to rush over immediately, he could probably do it. Not necessarily great, but would get the job done. He watched and would follow the group. He doubted he would be involved in anything more, but you never know.
Jack was silent the entire time the little girl explained why they were there, as well as what the squad was supposed to be doing and it's history. She had expected it to be something along the lines of spying and assassination. She didn't exactly excel at melee combat, although she liked to think that she could hold her own against most people, Kido wasn't much of a focus for her, and healing was definitely out of the question. She really had no patience for science and spending months trying to figure out some trivial things about some small object or facet of the soul. She wasn't strong enough to be on Division 1, so that left the more stealth oriented division. She was perfectly fine with this.
With the possibility of a spar, she turned towards the man with the ninja motif. She guessed he would be her opponent. She had not problem with this as he watched the man until someone else made their presence known. It was another younger looking Shinigami, this one older looking then the red-headed girl that had been addressing them. He appeared to at least known the girl, as he addressed her rather casually. So, she decided to wait and see how things would play out. It seemed like they might change locations.
Shana looked over as Riku announced the training grounds were available if they didn't want to use the simulator. Shana smiled, and gestured to the rain forest setting that Kirou had used for his solo training earlier, [color#cc0000]"Ah good you are here, but I think here will be fine, even if we don't use a simulated enemy the Simulator here will be just as useful for our purposes, plus I think we can set it to scan our fighting skills as we spar to update our Simulation data, so will you be joining us, turning it into a fair 2v2, or will you sit this out?"[/color]
~~
Kirou would smirk silently under his mask, even with the newest arrival, if they stay on this field he will be at an advantage even without his Shunko, Nobu thrives in the shadowy world that is beneath the Canopy of the Rain Forest.
"If you're sure it's fair." Which he doubted. But Riku went along with it. If it didn't seem like that, he'd hold back. But otherwise, he'd take position with Shana and wait for them to make the first move. He was more a reaction type of fighter. Plus it wasn't like he had anything better to do. He had all his paperwork done. Meals were planned. Patrols planned. Orders sent. Everything was in order far as he knew. The small boy didn't draw his sword at all. And looked at the two people in the room. One seemed pretty confident in the forest. The other seemed more into a ninja motif. But the former will get a rude awakening with him...
Jack watched and listened. It seemed her original conjecture of there being a sparring match proved to be valid, though it seemed the terms had changed now. Instead of it being a one-on-one spar, it seemed both of the captains would be joining in. She didn't mind, as long as it was fair. It was due to this that she ended up with a frown on her face as the new captain walked over and stood alongside female captain.
"Not very fair. Two captains against two non-captains. Best one captain per team to even the odds." She pointed out, her tone still calm and betraying no emotion as the frown slowly vanished from her face. Sure, fighting a captain would be good training but as a measure of strength, it was best for one to start on the lower end of the scale and work their way up, having the subject fight steadily stronger opponents until they fought one they couldn't beat. That would be the most logical way of going about this. A spar was good as well, if you wanted to compare two individuals directly, but that didn't seem to be the case here.
