#31 Re: [Open] A Captain Retuns To His Family on Thu Dec 21, 2017 9:36 am

Kaede winced at Shingen's response, not because of the harshness of it, but because he knew what was coming, and frankly this right here was what the young captain of squad 2 was hoping to avoid, or at least delay for a while. Readying himself Kaede stood fast as Akane's seething anger cause her Reiatsu to spike as she rose from her desk and walked towards him stopping when they were a few feet apart, before railing into him again, basically treating him as if he wasn't to be trusted and threatening to replace him. While Kaede agreed with having someone keep an eye on Shingen, he felt Akane was being a little harsh with Shingen.

As soon as Kaede felt that She was done he would move between the two of them, smiling at her with gentle eyes, both hands raised he attempted to defuse the situation. "Take it easy Sou-taichou, Shingen has been nothing but a loyal Shinigami, and while he might be different now than before I do not believe that has changed. I have also met this Desmond and I do not think he means us any harm so long as we do not try to harm him. I am sure that Shingen did not mean any disrespect to you, he has been met with pretty much nothing but hostility and distrust since returning to us. I am sure that it is wearing thin on him."

Looking over his shoulder at Shin, Kaede would continue, his voice gentle, "And Shin, our Sou-taichou has been through quite a bit, please be patient with her." Returning his attention back to Akane, Kaede would continue talking "Why don't we let Shingen prove that he is still the same loyal, and trustworthy person that we know. No guard, no one watching his every move. Should he prove my trust wrong we will deal with him. But should he prove to be the asset that I feel he is then there is no problem, right?"

CAPTAIN of DIVISION NINE
Captain Minamori dropped to a knee, even with his hands still in his pockets but now fighting to maintain his eye lock with the Commander. If there was one thing that he was going to maintain in this situation, it was the message that he was delivering to the Commander, regardless of her stature and rank. It seemed to him that she had no regard for what he had done before she obtained that position, what he had gone through before they arrived in that position they are in now, what he has endured since they arrived in that position, and even worse....what he has been enduring after his becoming what he has in this current state. Shingen was trying to extend some much needed backbone to the Gotei forces to show everyone that despite what happens, it's not the previous event that dictates the next move to be made...it's the people who have the courage to look forward to creating the next event and make it theirs that do. He was trying to become a symbol of inspiration for not only his Division but his friends...his co-workers...his fellow Captains...and more importantly, his Captain Commander. However, things seem to be going in the opposite direction for Shingen and that's not a great sign as numerous thoughts cross his mind at too fast a speed to be given a number.

Fortunately, one person in this room was still present with a level mind. The question remained though...was he speaking in time enough to save any and everything from regressing into a place that can't be saved? As Kaede spoke, Shingen just sat there on his knee as thoughts continued to fly in and out of his mind as if it were a super highway.

'Did she really say that? Was that MY Captain Commander? There's no way she spoke to me like THAT!! I know I deserve better than this. What should I do from here? Is this a sign that I should turn in my coat? Should I stay here on Earth...where all of this truly began for me? Who is my true enemy anymore? What will happen to Division 9 now?'

Then suddenly...it all stopped. It..just...stopped. No more thoughts were sounding in his head, couldn't hear Commander or Kaede's voices, the sounds outside...hell, he couldn't even hear Desmond's inner voice either. Just absolute silence. All Shingen could do....was smile. There answer had just been given to him. Only a matter of time before everything comes back again but he can enjoy this beautiful silence while he can. All that's left from this point is waiting. He smiles a little bit wider as he looks up towards the Captain Commander to lock eyes with her again, only this time wearing his new smile.

Kaede would receive a similar piercing glare as he stepped between them, though it would begin to waver finally. The immense weight upon the room slowly lifted as she came to her senses. She clenches her fists and takes a deep breath as she calmed down to a more reasonable level. Both Shingen and Kaede had played a part in her ascendancy after all, she couldn't just forget that in such a short span of time, no matter what had happened to her. Being so blinded by hatred was only going to make matters worse. And she certainly didn't need that right now. The shinigami didn't have the numbers to be making more enemies.. Mustering up a her composure the captain commander would glance over both of them. "I'm sorry Shingen, I shouldn't have acted like that" No excuses apparently, she was simply putting it as it was. "Shingen will have a guard until I am happy he isn't a threat, however. It would be stupid to ignore his condition."

Akane would match his glare, ignoring the smile. "Kaede, you will have someone guard him. Not only to protect us but to protect Shingen himself. The others might not react kindly to this change." She took a short walk back to sit back at her desk, running her scarf through her fingers as she looked to the pair. "Are there any questions" Assuming that there wasn't, she would dismiss them without further words. Disobeying her at this stage could be dangerous, it was clear Akane wasn't in the most stable state of mind, it wouldn't take much to set her off.

"None M'am" Kaede would respond, he had been slightly worried when he stepped between them, but he was glad to see it worked out as he had intended, her temper had wavered enough for her to realize that she was not acting as she should, and calmed down. This alone made Kaede grateful that he had read the room properly. The snap back to her senses was what he wanted. While her choice to have someone keep an eye on Shingen mirrored his own, he knew just the person for the job. One who could do so without anyone even knowing he was there, this way there was no obvious signs of suspicion between Shingen and the Captains, more specifically Akane. "I will assign Kirou to guard Shingen. He can do so from the shadows being completely unnoticeable by everyone so long as he isn't needed. This will allow Shingen to have any protection should there be anyone who will get violent with him, all while preventing it from looking like we distrust him."

Turning to Shingen, Kaede would continue. "I hope that this is agreeable with you, So long as you don't need Kirou you won't even know he is there." Smiling gently Kaede would continue, "Unless there is anything else, lets go make the arrangements and let you get back to your squad"

Assuming Shingen had nothing else to say he would bow to Akane and walk with him back to his squad signalling one of the countless punishment force members that constantly tail him waiting to do what he needed and sent them to pick up Kirou, who would follow them completely invisible and undetectable, until they were alone somewhere secure.

CAPTAIN of DIVISION NINE
Captain Minamori glanced upward towards his Commander as he watched and listened her go from seemingly close to eruption back down to just below boiling point. At least at this stage she was a lot more agreeable to when it came to making terms but it seems it was past that point for Shingen. Her eyes and tone said everything regardless of what the words from her mouth spoke. All he could do from this point was exhale a sigh as Kaede was the one who able to bring the Commander down a level however fully agreeing with the terms that were being laid out. Shingen could swear he honestly felt Desmond laughing his heart out on the inside and there was nothing he could do as the Commander's words are law and beyond that, another Captain is supporting them.

A brief moment passed as Shingen took it all in and finally made a decision himself based upon the decision his Commander had just made a moment ago. He was entirely sure about this decision since there was nothing less left for him at this point. If things continue down this path, he foresees things spiraling downward at a speed in which he wouldn't be able to maintain any control over any of it. Were that to happen, who knows where Shingen might end up and not knowing isn't very good. Shingen rises to stand with both feet planted on the floor and a different type of smile on his face. He then took off his Captain's coat and neatly folded it up so that the Division 9 symbol was on top and placed the coat on the Commander's desk in front of her with smile. Shingen turned his back to her to face Kaede, "You may now escort me to the prison." said Shingen still smiling. After everything he had gone through in his life, battles he's fought, and beliefs he believed he was the right one the live by....everything circled around to this....this moment right here. This is why Shingen can't help but keep smiling as there's no reason to be angry any longer unless he was to be angry at himself. Truth be told, he partially is...but only because he was so blind to not have seen this coming. Outside of that, he just looks forward to next destination with that smile.

Akane wouldn't hesitate as Shigen would place his haori on her desk and demand to be taken into custody. "Don't be ridiculous Shingen. Put that back on and get back to your squad" She wasn't even going to consider sending one of her captains into jail... if they even had the facilities for it right now. She had flown off the handle, that much was true, but thankfully the girl had managed to quickly simmer right back down. Nothing like her former self it would seem, but at least she wasn't about to bring down the building onto them all.

"They need you, I need you, we all need you. We aren't going to get our home back divided. You won't be able to lead your division in the charge from a jail cell" It was almost like she had done a complete one eighty on the topic. Hopefully Kaede would back her up here and get Shingen to see reason, though if he did take his leadership position back they would definitely need to keep a close watch on him. Something wasn't quite right with the Captain...

CAPTAIN of DIVISION NINE
Captain Minamori listened to the words of the Captain Commander after she had simmered down a bit and he laid out his request due to her stipulation that was placed upon the reclaim of his rank and position of Division Nine. As much as he would truly honor and love to do that...inside of his heart, spirit, and mind..Shingen knew exactly what would happen. That wasn't something he could stomach since he knew exactly who he was. It seemed as if everyone else around him who had forgotten or even worse...never recognized him at all. Either way, he was being treated as a complete stranger among them despite the name he was 'wearing' and that's all it really seemed like. Shingen was only wearing the name of Shingen Minamori but the man behind the name was nothing but a mere stranger to these people.

Either way, Captain Minamori shrugged his shoulders as he locked eyes with Commander Akane and said, "Well, I see clearly what's going on here and we are simply at an impasse. You are certainly not going to change your mind based upon who you are and rank as that would make you weak to others who would learn what happened here this day. I, on the other hand, won't back down due to the fact that I am simply trying to protect my own individual identity, pride, and reputation as well." explains Shingen who carefully lays out what's on his chest a small bit. "By doing what I suggest, you can solve a lot of your issues all in one shot. The biggest of them is the keeping an eye on me one. You would know where I am at all times without needing to question that at any time of the day or sparing any manpower to shadow me when there are always guards on duty in that area." He pauses and takes a breath as he glances down at his haori. "This impasse doesn't serve either one of us but we do need a solution to this situation that we both can agree on. As of this moment, I wish resume my duties unhindered and unaffected..just as I was before the invasion. You, at this moment, don't trust me. Whether you are willing to say it or not...your actions are proof enough to me for me to say it. As Captain of Gotei or so I claim to be...there's no way I can fill that position if the Commander won't trust her Captain. With that said..I will give you a moment to make a decision upon whether you truly want a Captain you question consistently or one you trust." Shingen said as he finished while correcting and straightening his stance before the Commander while awaiting her answer.

"Then put that back on and get back to your duties" she pointed at the haori. "Or leave, but if this is what you choose to do, you will never be welcome back." It was an ultimatum apparently, seeing as he only had two choices anyway. "I do not want to hear of any incidents. If you choose to stay, I will not send anyone to tail you and you can get ready for getting out home back. If you leave, leave peacefully. Or I will personally make you regret that decision" She wouldn't even wait for a reply, in fact she would simply walk past the pair and out of the makeshift office, seeing as there wasn't anything important in there. Now was not a time for whatever petty squabbles that Shingen wanted to be getting into. It was now completely up to him if he wanted to stay or not.
