Jun Tomoshibi walked into the Albatross Inc. to submit an application. He wore his "mafia" like outfit. Though it was still stylish. That would sure to attract some attention. He was adamant about joining the Committee. Which he only knew about because one of his teachers were a part of it. Said teacher had also saved him a long time ago, too. They told him to have a seat in the lobby, the blond doing as asked, taking off his hat.

Now it was time to wait and see. He was strong...or at least he hoped he was. He never had any real experience. Well, aside from minor hollow hunting on his free time. Which he did get a good scolding for each time by his parents. But he ignored them like always. They were way too restricting. He just hoped he made the cut.

It was a good twenty minutes before they called him into a room to talk to someone, only to find no one there. But he was told someone will come in to talk to him. He didn't know what to make of it. At least the office was decent sized.

Maki Kesshō~

On one of my usual days in the lab, I was working on a type of glass that changed to the color of light that was shined through it. It was going well, but for some reason the light diffusion was off. It was going to have to wait, as one of the girls from the front office came to tell me we had someone interested in joining our ranks. Sighing, I told her I'd be out shortly, and she left to relay the message. I attached my customized name badge that I'd made myself. It was made of obsidian, totally black, with white lettering that read "Chief of Research and Development" with "Maki Kesshō" in slightly smaller letters beneath it. I left my office shrugging a bit, heading for the front.

Aside from the normal faculty, there was a boy with blonde hair in a sort of mafia-esque getup. He seemed a bit strange to be wearing something like that, but to each their own, Maki thought. With her usual cold expression she introduced herself as Chief of Research and Development, Maki Kesshō. "You are here to join Albatross? Follow me to my office, and we should talk about that." Assuming he took orders well, he would follow me as I had asked.

A woman came in and got him. She seemed pretty cold, but she was Chief of Research and Development. The five foot six teenager followed obediently, and answered the obvious question. "Yes ma'am. I'm Jun Tomoshibi." He went ahead and introduced himself. Like usual, he maintained respect towards authority figures. Might as well try to make a good impression on that front. He still never put his fedora back on. The green eyed teen also noticed her grammar was a little off. And was that a slight...accent?

"Sorry if this seems rude, but are you originally from Japan?" Despite most of their Asian features having been bred out through the generations, they were still big on their culture. Including knowing the language. They've been to Japan a total of two times in his sixteen year lifespan. He just hoped this wasn't going to be too difficult.

The boy addressed himself as Jun Tomoshibi, his surname immediately striking a chord of familiarity with me. Though I'd heard it somewhere before, I was sure I didn't know him by ear. She escorted Jun to her office, closing the door behind him. He asked Maki if she was from Japan, and she responded with "Yeah, I'm from Hokkaido." She eyed him, heavily examining him for any sign of ability. She took her eight foot long quarterstaff from the corner, snapping it in half cleanly, tossing one half at him. "Let's see what you're made of kid." Maki took a solid combat stance, letting her white jacket top fall to the floor, revealing her favored bodysuit, which she used for combat. Her muscles had clear definition even through the suit. She lunged at him waiting to see Jun's reaction before she made a strike.

She confirmed it with a location. Pity they've only been to Tokyo. Ms. Kessho lead them into an office. It was decent sized, but Jun took in the surroundings. Pretty sparse. The only thing that took his interest was the quarterstaff that she took and snapped in two, tossing one half of it to him. Jun caught it easily enough, but the declaration of combat surprised him. This soon and in this small space? The blond wasn't exactly large, but still.

"Shouldn't we do this someplace with more space or something?" He may preferred close ranged combat, but to give a good combat performance, to let them know what he can do. If she insisted, he just had to deal with the cards he was dealt.

Jun blurred to her left to avoid her lunge and aimed a swing to her neck immediately afterwards. He was fast and strong. But he doubted he could actually take her on in a head to head fight. So he went ahead and pulled one of his tricks...something gifted to him four generations ago. "Hado 1: Sho!" The weak kido spell was aimed at her foot, to trip her up. He quickly spun for a kick to her head. If the spell actually hit.

He rose a complaint while Maki was making the first lunge and before her strike was released, she said "NO WHINING!" To her slight surprise, the boy didn't totally wuss out and dodged the strike, pretty fast for a kid. Of all combat options, he chose to swing for her neck? Maki decided she better parry it. It'd be pretty easy considering the physique difference.

Wait, was he now preparing some sort of minor energy blast? No matter. She projected the trajectory to be low. "At my foot? Really kid?" She pulled metal from the door to cover both of her feet up to her knees with aluminum, then waited for him to realize what was going to happen.

Honestly, the kid had talent, though I wasn't about to get his hopes up. If I was able to floor him, I'd still compliment him.

Jun didn't have time to give her his "you're a bitch" face. She parried his blow, but he still held it slightly longer, to push her. Only for that to not happen as his kido spell made a loud "clang" noise from her making feet/shin guards to block it...making her foot not move an inch. Joy. He didn't even react to her comment about where he aimed. Stomping the ground, he tried to make a crater to reach his goal. Or so he thought. Instead, he just collapsed the office's part of the floor. He had hoped it was better built. But, it provided an opportunity.

Dropping the stick, the rings on his middle fingers glowed, revealing chain whips with a single blade at the tip. The hilts even had a band on it so that the only way to disarm him is to literally disarm him. He only hoped her metal manipulation wouldn't affect it. They snaked at her, one from below, aiming for the hip, and the other above and at an angle at her right shoulder. Appearing behind her, the blond aimed a kick to her back, and a whip lash at her side.

In a way, he felt bad for tearing up the building, but this was his test...he needed to show exactly what he was capable of.

I was worried the kid wasn't going to show me anything useful, but his middle finger's ring caught my attention, because it was actually glowing. A Fullbring, eh? Well, this is probably gonna suck. He dropped his half of my staff, so I just called it back, deciding to keep it in two, just in case. I caught little tendrils snaking out of his ring, immediately seeking out targets, one at my hip, one at an abstract angle for my shoulder, and then the kid was gone. I was able to predict the path of the one aimed at my hip, adjusting my positioning slightly, as I didn't want him grabbing my weapon. The other one however, I didn't realize its target until the last second.

Of course, not realizing that he wasn't trying to tie me up at the shoulder should have been a red flag. That's not logical in any sense. I felt a boot embed itself into my back. It hurt a bit, but he made a bit of a mistake in doing so. I felt a tendril lap at my side, but I stopped caring about that now. I put my staff back together, exuded Tidal Silver, and affixed it to either end of my staff, forming crescent blades on either side. I spun it with the intent of severing the tendrils, and assuming I could, saying "Welcome to The Commitee, kid." before exuding more Tidal Silver, this time in the form of slender needles.

He got her! But she also displayed some telepathic ability...or those staffs were metal...or she had a different, but similar kind of ability as his mother. She created some blades and knocked his whips away, making him retract them to regain some control. She welcomed him and fired metal needles. A red and blue aura consumed him as fire and lightning spikes came out from the surrounding area within 15 yards of him, blocking them. "Thanks, but surely just showing I have powers isn't the only part of the test?" If it wasn't, and she told him to continue, he would.

By throwing a ball of fire and a ball of lightning, each the strength of a hado 33, at her. He also aimed the blade at her hands. Assuming those where deflected, they'd strike at her sides. Leaving himself vulnerable. Or so it appeared. He was ready for almost anything that came his way.

If it was, well, that was disappointing. He had higher expectations. But from what he'd heard, then it would be finding a division. Which would probably be R&D...his parents would have a cow if he signed up for anything too dangerous. But then again, since when did he ever fully listen to his parents anyways?

As he steadily showed me more power, the blonde boy showed me what I was hoping for. With the fact that he could fire off elementally based spells that were at least strong enough for me to feel them should they hit, he'd become a rather valuable asset. Unfortunately, I'm not very used to energy attacks, so I wasn't sure how to deal with this. I could sense that these attacks were moderately stronger than the light blast he fired at me before.

So I did the only thing I knew to do, I exuded more of my crystal, enough to cover my body with a liquid layer of armor, then hoped that'd be enough to protect me. Something told me however that it wouldn't totally save me. As the two orbs bounced off my weapon, they bounced to my sides, the one that tingled with electricity fizzled, but the one that felt intensely hot burned away my armor, along with a bit of my bodysuit, before burning into my skin. It didn't debilitate me, but it still hurt a fair bit.

"Alright kid, fair enough. I'll give it to you, that you've got what it takes to be a part of the Committee. I'm sure this is just a glimpse of the power you're hiding in there, but this is sufficient." Shifting the remainder of the crystal that was on my staff, I made it into a heavy, blunt object, a Warhammer of sorts, albeit a bit smaller than its normal size. I grinned at the boy and with all my remaining strength, swung it in his direction.
