Shinigami
Shinigami
Graven sighed as he looked out upon the great sands of Hueco Mundo from the palace his fledgling Espada called home. He was the Primera, the most powerful Arrancar alive, aside from Dante. However, that injustice was to be rectified, and Dante disposed of unceremoniously. Besides, the upstart didn't have the one thing Graven had been training for, the one thing that was mythical to all those who had shattered their masks. As was his right as the first Arrancar to have been born, Graven would be the first to achieve that legendary second release form, the Segunda Etapa, as it was called.

Once upon a time, this power wasn't necessary, but that had all changed for Graven when his mate and unborn child had been murdered by that bastard. Now, he was a "man" on a mission. He was close, he could tell. All it would take is one final push, one final fight.

Flexing his well-muscled body, he couldn't help but remember the last fight he had with that strange Shinigami...Luke, was it? He had beaten the poor boy to a pulp, and it hadn't helped that the same Shinigami had healed the mental trauma caused by Dante.

As he considered this, Graven heard a noise from below, but didn't feel a reiatsu to accompany it. Grinning ear-to-ear uncharacteristically, the seemingly-young man launched into a blisteringly fast Sonido to go meet with this strange being. It seemed that his fight had just delivered itself to him. Shortly before they met, the Primera slowed down to a halt and composed himself. He had a reputation to maintain as being damn-near emotionless, after all.

How the hell did he get here?

Kaitou Eta-Naru, the Vice Captain of Division Eleven of the Gotei Thirteen, had no idea how he'd gotten to this location. He didn't even know where this location was. It was devoid of any characteristic markings, just a blank landscape. Nothing here reminded Kaitou of anything he had seen previously. Nothing here looked like anything he could recognize. This location was completely alien to Kaitou, and he didn't know how he got here. Was he kidnapped? Did he suffer a trauma and get amnesia, and suddenly remember everything but forget what happened during the amnesiac episode? It didn't make sense, but he was throwing every possibility he could think of into the air. How did no one notice him disappear? Did anyone notice him disappear? Is this even real or was this all an elaborate fugue state?

Kaitou closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He was reading into this too much, and needed to figure out what to do now that he was conscious. He shifted his shoulders, and found his Zanpakuto still sitting in its sheathe on his back. At least that was still there, so he hadn't been disarmed. His reiatsu felt normal, and it felt supressed, meaning he had been doing that consciously too. Good; at least his basic skills had been intact this whole time. Sliding his foot around on the ground, Kaitou turned to look at the direction he'd been walking away from, only to see a large building. It was like a fortress, but Kaitou didn't recognize that either. He began walking back towards it, looking for something that could remind him of what he was doing in this location.

As he approached the fortress, he felt a rush of reiatsu from above him and glanced towards it. There was a window, but no one standing right by it. Whoever the source of that reiatsu was, they were strong, but Kaitou always had a knack for ignoring the density of spiritual pressure, which he was grateful for at a time like this. The fact that he could ignore it meant that the person up there wasn't incredibly stronger than him, but he could tell that they were to some degree. He was starting to get a vague idea where he was when he froze solid.

"Oh. Shit."

Kaitou stared blankly as everything he'd seen connected with him. The void landscape, the greyscale nature, the fortress in front of him... he was in Hueco Mundo. What he'd read about this in the academy, even if it was over a hundred years ago, told him that he needed to find a way out before any high-tier hollow found him. Turning on a dime, he began to run away from the fortress, only to stop within two steps as a figure appeared in front of him. As void of emotion as the rest of the landscape, the human-like figure had white hair with two red strands, a hole right below his sternum, a One tattooed on his chest, and part of a hollow mask on the right side of his face.

Kaitou closed his eyes for a moment. He didn't know exactly who this man was, but he knew what he was: an Arrancar; a Hollow who had taken off his mask and gained Shinigami-like powers. The hole in his sternum and mask on his face were proof enough of that. The One tattooed on his chest... that could unfortunately only mean that he was the strongest Arrancar in Hueco Mundo. This man, whoever he was, was literally number one; a member of the Espada, which were the top 10 Arrancar.

He smiled and opened his eyes, looking directly at the Espada in front of him. Kaitou needed to keep his composure and pretend this was intentional or he'd be eaten alive. Literally.

"Hello there, Espada Number One. I'm Kaitou Eta-Naru, Vice Captain of Division Eleven in the Gotei Thirteen. I'm here to kill you." He was bluffing, of course; he didn't know why he was here. Hopefully the Espada wouldn't pick up on it, and he could just fight. Kaitou was good at fighting, and was on par with some of the captains even without having a Bankai yet. Maybe, just maybe, he'd get lucky and beat this guy, then figure out a way to get home.

"Hello there, Espada Number One. I'm Kaitou Eta-Naru, Vice Captain of Division Eleven in the Gotei Thirteen. I'm here to kill you." The strange Shinigami stated with a nervous confidence that spoke volumes about his character. Accepting this in stride, Graven drew his slightly-too long katana and got into a ready stance. Lancing forward, he would attempt to slash at the Lieutenant's arm before using a Sonido to the side and charging a Cero, hoping to end this quickly. Firing it off, he would launch himself into the air before firing another one downwards towards the younger combatant. Using Sonido again, he would land approximately twenty feet from the Shinigami.

Whether or or not any of his attacks hit, Graven would let out a short bark of laughter as his Reiatsu slowly gathered about him in a bloody haze. Approximately 15 gallons of the sanguine liquid formed around the Arrancar, slowly sloshing around him as he gathered his strength about him.

"Well, Kaitou-Fukutaichou, my name is Graven Fel. As you may have noticed, I am the Primera Espada. I hope you provide more...entertainment then the Third Seat of Division 3 did. He relied too much on his illusions. It wasn't any fun." Graven spoke in his usual monotone, his eyes betraying the emotions swirling within his soul. He was excited, more excited than he'd been in a long time. Aligning his Zanpakuto properly, he would then Sonido forward to rest just at the man's side, slightly behind him to make his point before dashing away again to his original spot. "If you don't take this seriously, I'll kill you."

Kaitou gasped as the Espada moved far more quickly than he had anticipated him to, and had jumped into the fray of combat almost instantaneously. His zanpakuto was longer than an average katana, but Kaitou didn't get the pleasure of inspecting and analyzing its properties before the Espada was at his side, slicing his arm. The cut wasn't very deep, Kaitou had barely enough time to guard himself with his reiatsu so it wouldn't cause a serious injury, but then the Espada was behind him and based off the energy signature it was emitting it wasn't an attack that Kaitou wanted to take to the face. Or the back, in this case.

He utilized his shunpo to escape the blast before it would hit him, maneuvering himself upwards, only to notice the Espada do the same. Kaitou managed to dodge both ceros by using shunpo again, and stared intently at the Arrancar, who finally began to introduce himself; Graven Fel, Primera Espada. Kaitou knew he was the Number One, but hearing him say it caused a shiver to go down the man's spine.

"If you don't take this seriously," Graven said in a rather soft voice before he disappeared and Kaitou felt the tip of his katana against his back, before reappearing where he was originally. "I'll kill you."

It seemed to just be a show of his strength, but Kaitou- who had, up until now, a blank expression- slowly began smiling. It's not that there weren't people in Seireitei who he could spaw with, it was that none of them wanted to spar with him. Some people were already saying that Kaitou would be the next Kenpachi and that it was only a matter of time, though he had tried to ignore those rumors. His grin widened all the way, merely matching the fire that was lit inside Graven's eyes.

Reaching behind him, Kaitou finally grasped his own zanpakuto, pulling it from its sheath and letting it hand down. Seeing as he was still in the air, Kaitou didn't need to worry about letting the blade touch the ground. Kaitou pointed the tip of his zanpakuto at Graven, his smile never fading, as he released the full brunt of his reiatsu and spoke clearly.

"Incinterate... Caliburn." As Kaitou spoke, his zanpakuto exploded in a brilliant light which would cause most people to shield their eyes, and no longer was a simple black cleaver. It was now a massive blade with a big notch in the back containing an everburning flame. Kaitou held up his left hand at Graven, and swung the zanpakuto twice, causing a stream of bladed embers to move from the weapon towards Graven, as he used his left hand to cast Hado#63 without the incantation, using the surprising speed of the skill over the damage it could deal.

While Graven would be distracted with those attacks, Kaitou used Shunpo to move to a different location and swung his blade again, then began shifting his left hand. If Graven dodged the attacks by simply moving out of their way, Kaitou would manipulate the bladed embers back around to attack him from a different angle.

"Incinerate... Caliburn." Kaitou spoke excitedly, causing a flash of light as flames burst forth. Graven had to admit, the gleaming cleaver was a pretty sight, but what was more concerning were the blade-like embers that emit themselves from the blade twice, approximately two hundred of the little sparks flying towards him at an insane rate. Not to mention the fact that the man had just unleashed Raikoho in the same direction. Using Shunpo, he then let out another slash to release more of the embers in his direction. Graven smiled, a small smirk to let his opponent know that he was amused by his actions.

Using Sonido, he dodged deftly out of the way of the Hado spell and the 300 or so embers. However, he noticed that with a flick of the wrist, the other redirected the blades toward him with the ease of practice. Calling upon 3 of the now-20 gallons of blood littering the field, he formed a shield in front of him that not only deflected the embers, but sent them back at their master slightly weaker than they were.

Smirking even wider, Graven would now bring his Zanpakuto to bear, using his transcendent knowledge of Sonido to his advantage. He dashed forward, using a modified version of a masterful technique known to Shinigami as Senka. Aiming for the Binding Chain and Soul Sleep of his opponent, he would slash twice on his way by, hoping to restrict the other's use of his Reiatsu, effectively crippling him temporarily.

Techniques Used:
Technique Name: Negation Wall
Technique Description: Graven forms a partial dome of pure, densified blood, defending himself from any attacks on the chosen side. The dome itself is amorpheous, allowing it the potential to redirect an energy-based assault back at the attacker as well as reinforcing its strength against melee attacks. The curvature of the dome itself varies according to necessity, and it can be either concave or convex as the situation dictates. This technique is instant, and lasts for 3 posts or until struck as dictated. Negation Wall requires 3 posts to cool down after its collapse, and uses up 3 gallons of blood.

Technique Effect Chart:

*The effect chart is for damage, durability, or any other after effect of a technique. The damage/effect/etc will be based off of tiers.*

Opponent is Two+ Tiers Lower: Melee attacks are absorbed outright, and energy-based attacks can be redirected back at the attacker with relative ease. Wall will begin to tear after 3 blows, and will break after 5.
Opponent is One Tier Lower: Most of the damage from melee attacks is absorbed, not allowing a solid strike upon the wall. Energy attacks may be reflected back to the attacker with -1 AR from the original force, and it takes 4 blows to break the amorphous formation, with it ripping upon the second.
Opponent is Equal Tier: Melee attacks upon Negation Wall begin to tear it slightly with each blow, as they become more solid and tear into the surface. Energy-based attack can be reflected with some effort, allowing them to be redirected at the attacker with -2 AR from the original force. A combatant with reiatsu equal to Graven’s is capable of breaking the wall with only 3 blows.
Opponent is One Tier Higher: An opponent of this tier begins to rip small holes and fractures into the wall with each hit, showing structural damage after only 1 blow. Energy attacks cannot be redirected by this technique, only providing a slight barrier and reducing damage taken by -2 AR. Negation Wall will break open after 2 blows.
Opponent is Two+ Tiers Higher: Enemies of this caliber are hardly hindered by the formation, able to rend the wall with only a single blow. Their energy-based attacks will hit anything beyond the wall with -1 AR from its original force, and the shockwave from the wall breaking will stagger anyone standing behind it.

Technique Name: Senka
Technique Description: The art of Senka is exceedingly difficult, as it requires utilizing a slight twist as the practitioner uses Shunpo. Graven has modified this technique for use with Sonido, allowing for the Arrancar to mimic its use. The strike itself is two-fold, slicing through both the Binding Chain and Soul Sleep of the target. In extreme cases this can result in the loss of all spiritual pressure and associated powers, but in most cases it merely restricts their use temporarily. This technique may be fired instantly, and requires a 5 post cool-down.
Technique Effect Chart:

*The effect chart is for damage, durability, or any other after effect of a technique. The damage/effect/etc will be based off of tiers.*

Opponent is Two+ Tiers Lower: Graven temporarily disappears from sight, moving too fast for the target to react as his Zanpakuto whirrs through their defenses. Two deep slash wounds are suffered, and the opponent’s AR is reduced by 2 for the next 3 posts.
Opponent is One Tier Lower: The tensing of muscles and the gathering of reiatsu are all the warning a combatant will receive before Graven appears beside and behind them, a spray of blood accompanying two deep slash wounds upon their chest and abdomen. Their AR is reduced by 2 for a period of 2 posts, after which their power returns to normal.
Opponent is Equal Tier: An opponent on par with Graven may notice him slipping into Sonido, allowing a moment to react as he flickers in and out of vision. Twin slash wounds are suffered, the uppermost one being slightly deeper than average. The opponent in question has their AR reduced by 1 for the next 2 posts, after which it will return at full force.
Opponent is One Tier Higher: Graven slips into Sonido as the opponent watches, moving nearly too fast to see while making a distinctive spin at the last second. If this attack hits, the target will suffer two average slash wounds, and they may notice a slight decrease in their spiritual pressure for a short time. Their AR is reduced by 1 for a single post before exploding back into being as strong as before.
Opponent is Two+ Tiers Higher: To an opponent of this tier, Graven appears to move faster than normal while twisting in the air before impact, granting them ample time to react. A successful hit will cause two shallower slash wounds, and the reiatsu output of the opponent stays the same.

Graven's smile betrayed his nature even more. He was, like Kaitou, addicted to battle and combat too much to give up on any challenge. Much to Kaitou's surprise, though, the Primera Espada kept up with his movements and doged out of the onslaught, shielding himself with a thick reiatsu that was taking on the properties of blood? It was odd, but Kaitou had a mild respect for the Arrancar's abilities. He wasn't going to just keel over and die, he was going to make this fun; and, based on the way his eyes were glowing and his grin widened, he was making it fun for the both of them.

As Kaitou's embers bounced back towards him, he flicked his wrist to scatter them around and circle back to where Graven stood. Unfortunately, he was no longer there. Kaitou blinked and looked for his reiatsu signature, only to realize the Arrancar was directly behind him. Spinning around to turn and fight at close range, Kaitou stopped when the blood spurted out from his chest on two deep wounds. He coughed and struggled to hold himself up as his eyes went hazy and he fell to the ground.

Kaitou managed to regain his balance and slow his fall just in time to land on his feet, but his zanpakuto was resting on the ground rather than his shoulder. He felt something different about himself; his own reiatsu signature was weaker than it should be. Something that Graven had done had stolen reiatsu from him. Was that how he was so strong? Graven's reiatsu seemed much stronger right now, and while Kaitou couldn't tell if it was simply because his own was weaker or because he had actually stolen it, Kaitou felt more comfortable with the stolen idea. He stood back up, wiping the blood from his chin as he glared at Graven.

"I don't know.... what that technique... was..." He spoke in short bursts, not having the strength to keep a full sentence up, though it was slowly coming back. Closing his eyes, Kaitou focused on hardening his reiatsu around him, knowing that he needed to be more defensive right now than offensive. "At this point, I'm not sure I care." The reiatsu shielded him a bit more, and at this point was clearly visible; the blue glow surrounding Kaitou reflected on his golden hair and blue eyes, causing more vivid blues to bounce of his skin. "I know that I'm not giving up yet, though... and," Katou Eta-Naru smiled as he opened his eyes and stared up at Graven Fel. "I know that I won't lose."

Holding his left hand out again, Kaitou cast Hado#63 just like before. This time, though, his hand pull back after it was cast. If he was lucky, Graven would be distracted with the laughing at him and the deflecting the Hadō, which was clearly something his power would let him do (especially when cast without the incantation), while the embers from before looped back around and hopefully would hit Graven squarely.
technique log

Spell Name: Raikoho
Spell Type: Hadō
Spell Number: #63
Spell Incantation: "Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle!"
Spell Effect: The caster uses this spell by raising the hand facing towards what he his going to be firing at and opening his hand to his palm, gathering yellow energy, similar to #32, but forming in front of the palm and with lightning covering the orb before, at the caster's command, it fires as a stream of lightning energy, shaped to look like a lightning strike towards the target which explodes violently in a destructive cloud of lightning, causing both explosive damage and electrical damage at once, results vary from person to person.

Blinking, Graven listened to Kaito begin to struggle to breathe under the force of his Reiatsu. The young man had done well so far, giving the Arrancar the idea that, perhaps, the young man had a tolerance for the Spiritual Pressure of others unlike anyone else he'd met. Sadly, however, after having his Saketsu and Hakusui sliced near in twain, that resistance seemed to be nullified. Judging from the look in the Lieutenant's eyes, Graven thought an explanation was in order. Holing his Zanpakuto downward, he would allow the other to view the masterpiece clearly for the first time. Twin magatama made up the tsuba, and the blade gleamed unnaturally brightly, almost like a diamond. White wrapped around black sharkskin to make up the hilt, capped with the same bright silver as the tsuba.

"I don't know.... what that technique... was...At this point, I'm not sure I care. I know that I'm not giving up yet, though... and, I know that I won't lose." Kaito spoke in a determined voice before Graven could launch into his explanation that no, he had not stolen the man's Reiatsu. Firing off another Raikoho, he motioned for more of his embers to strike Graven in the back. Clever.

Not having quite enough time to fire a Cero, Graven utilized his colossal Reiatsu to his advantage, firing off a Bala to counter the point-blank Hado spell, then spun to fire another at the oncoming embers, managing to scatter around half before the others enveloped him, barraging him with approximately 150 different Hado #4-like energy blasts. His Hierro blocked most of the damage, but Graven's uniform was scorched and he was singed around the edges himself. 22 gallons of blood settled around him as he used his brutish strength once again to his advantage, dispersing the embers for their master to collect as they scattered in the air like sakura blossoms.

"As I was about to explain, the technique I used was Senka, a high-speed slash that strikes at your Saketsu and your Hakusui. Therefore, your Reiatsu is suppressed for a short period of time, which is why I was able to escape relatively unscathed. I suggest that if you have any other tricks up your sleeve, I suggest you use them. At your strength, you should be close to having your Bankai, if not having it already. If you can, use it. You'll live longer." Graven would say before firing a Cero in the direction of Kaitou, almost lazily. It would seem as if he was doing nothing other than swatting a fly.

"You fool."

The voice rang out clear as day, even through the blasts the Arrancar was throwing out at the bladed embers behind him. Kaitou took a look around, but saw nothing and sensed even less. There was nothing around him except the Espada, but the voice was clear and calm.

"You treat him like he's a simple Hollow, don't you? You pretend he's weaker than you, or even on par."

What the hell was going on? Glancing back up, Kaitou saw the embers begin to make contact with Graven Fel, his arms crossed over his chest to protect himself as they tore apart and burned his clothing, and his skin was singed. Arrancar were apparently tougher than Kaitou had originally thought. He was running out of techniques to use, and without his Zanpakuto he would be in a deep load of trouble; therefore, using Mazu Hono would be ineffective. At this point, there wasn't much left that Kaitou could do.

"Such a weakling..."

Where was that voice coming from? Graven had finally turned to face him, but his voice was much different as he simply began to explain his technique and what had happened to Kaitou.

"Why had I ever gave you my power? Why had I ever let you use me to your advantage?"

His power? Kaitou's eyes suddenly lit up as he realized who the voice was, and why there was no one around talking. It was Caliburn, his Zanpakuto spirit. Even as Graven continued talking to him, Caliburn did as well; though by now, his tone had changed to disgust and filfth, as though he were speaking while facing away from Kaitou Eta-Naru.

"You don't deserve what I have to offer you, you dog."
Why don't I? I've trained, I've done everything both of you have asked. What have I done to deserve your disdain?
"Your hubris. Your constant arrogance in your own abilities, when you haven't even unlocked my full arsenal of power, is disgusting."
Then give it to me. Show me what you can do, so I can show you what I can do.
"Not yet. If you can land a single blow on that Espada, I'll grant you my power... but only if you land that blow with me, not the embers."

Kaitou glanced up to Graven again, now that he knew a way he could get his bankai, just in time to see a Cero being fired off directly at him. Had he been talking with Caliburn that long? Kaitou kneeled to jump up and out of the way of the Cero, but it was too close, and he was too distracted to use shunpo to escape. Swinging his zanpakuto, Kaitou released a wave of embers which all crashed into the cero, using his left hand to form a shield of them, slowing the blast down. It broke through from sheer strength, but by then Kaitou was able to block it with the broad side of his weapon.

Staring upwards, not having heard a word that Graven said, Kaitou simply smiled. He slashed the Zanpakuto twice in a cross fashion at the Primera Espada Arrancar Graven Fel, and as they traveled towards him, Kaitou's shunpo brought him behind the Arrancar as he slammed his Zanpakuto down, attemping to cut Graven clean across his back or chest, if Graven turned around.

Shinigami
As Graven witnessed a change in the young man, he began to smile. That smile grew even wider as Kaitou's eyes began to glow blue as he slashed twice in his direction after blocking his admittedly half-assed Cero. Blocking the embers easily with his Zanpakuto, he heard the whoosh of air moving at a high speed before feeling his uniform tear at his back before a thin line of blood began to run, almost as if a cat scratched a human. Using Sonido at a speed that the other would keep up with watching, he lined back up in a balanced stance, ready to either attack or defend. He didn't want to show his true speed other than with Senka, not yet.

"Good. You're doing much better, especially now that your Reiatsu has returned. I want to see more, though. Use it." Graven spoke in a monotone betrayed by his slight smile before stabbing his Zanpakuto in the ground. His bloodlike energy began to coalesce about him as he sliced his fingers upon the blade, a hellish red light beginning to form in his palm. He wasn't sure whether or not the Shinigami would recognize it, but hopefully a Gran Rey Cero would force him into the Bankai he could feel nascent within the young man's bones. Gripping his Zanpakuto firmly in his off hand, as he was ambidextrous, he launched to the side, the Cero within his grasp destroying the landscape around him The 22 gallons of blood not evaporated by the technique would lash out towards the Shinigami, forcing him to up his game if he didn't want to be barraged by an attack so similar to his own.

Technique Charging:

Technique Name: Gran Rey Cero
Technique Description: Each Gran Rey Cero is unique to its wielder, and Graven’s is no exception. By adding his blood into the Cero itself, he fires off a bolt of raw power that pulses and flows like a river of liquefied lightning, stained with the blood-red of his reiatsu. This blast is far more powerful than the average Cero, and is a wonder to behold in combat. Use of this legendary Cero is forbidden within the walls of Las Noches. This technique takes 1 post to charge, and 5 posts to cool down. Graven must also have released his reiatsu for at least 1 post to use this technique, and 5 gallons of the blood under his control is used as a catalyst.

Technique Effect Chart:

*The effect chart is for damage, durability, or any other after effect of a technique. The damage/effect/etc will be based off of tiers.*

Opponent is Two+ Tiers Lower: Damage is severe, but not lethal. 3rd Degree burns are suffered over the area hit along with multiple broken bones, with the potential to be 4th Degree. Limbs may be lost, and the target is in extreme pain as their blood begins to simmer and boil. Terrain is devastated, and buildings may collapse from structural damage.
Opponent is One Tier Lower: 2nd and 3rd Degree burns cover the target’s affected area, and cause large amounts of pain, especially from heated blood. Bones will probably break, and fractures are almost guaranteed.
Opponent is Equal Tier: Opponent suffers multiple 2nd Degree burns, some with the potential for 3rd degree. Bones might fracture, and muscles might tear from the force of the blast. Moderate pain is to be expected.
Opponent is One Tier Higher: 1st and 2nd Degree burns spatter the impact zone, with heavy bruising and strained muscles from the blast force. Target may suffer shell shock, with moderate pain and muscle ache.
Opponent is Two+ Tiers Higher: Combatant will suffer several bad 1st Degree burns, with heavy bruising and a light muscle ache from the force of the Cero. Other than this, the target suffers few ill effects, and may even be able to redirect the Cero if they have experience with such.

Technique Used:
Technique Name: Blood Manipulation

Technique Description: Using this technique, Graven can reshape and control both his own reiatsu and any blood upon the battlefield to use against his opponent. He can control about 30 gallons at most, half of which is produced upon release of his reiatsu, gaining 5 gallons every post afterward until he hits maximum capacity. Being hit by the blood itself causes damage similar to an average Cero, allowing him to use this technique as both an effective weapon and a powerful defense. This ability lasts for 8 posts once released, then dissipates and requires 2 posts to cool down.

Opponent is Two+ Tiers Lower: Damage is bad, with multiple 3rd degree burns spotting the target area. Bones might break from the force of the blast, and muscles will most likely have tears. Pain associated with this tier is severe, and will likely hinder movement slightly.
Opponent is One Tier Lower: 2nd degree burns cover the affected area, some with the potential to be 3rd degree. Bones may fracture, and muscles have the potential to tear.
Opponent is Equal Tier: Opponent suffers several large 2nd degree burns, with heavy bruising and pulled muscles from the force of the blast. Pain is a guaranteed thing.
Opponent is One Tier Higher: 1st and 2nd Degree burns spatter the impact zone, with medium bruising and strained muscles from the blast force. Target may suffer shell shock, with moderate pain and muscle ache.
Opponent is Two+ Tiers Higher: Combatant will suffer several 1st Degree burns, with light bruising and a slight muscle ache from the force of the blast. Other than this, the target suffers few ill effects, and may even be able to redirect the strike if they have experience with such.

The blow connected. Kaitou's blade pierced through his opponent's clothing and into his flesh, admittedly not very deep. The blood dripped like a scratch from a cat, but it was enough to satisfy Caliburn, and therefore satisfy Kaitou. His eyes immediately began glowing as he backed off, stepping away from Graven and keeping himself in the air.

"Good. You have potential yet."
So you'll give me your full potential?
"Admittedly, I'm not even sure what my full power is. We'll learn together, Kaitou."
You don't even know what you're capable of?
"How could I? We haven't achieved Bankai yet."
I see... so you don't know what you're capable of, you just know it's more than this.
"Of course it's more than this. Are you even paying attention?"

Glancing over to Graven, Kaitou's eyes continued glowing as the blue which surrounding him grew back to its full potential. He heard the other man speak about wanting to see more, and that he should use it. Willing to acknowledge this, Kaitou tightened the grip around his zanapakuto before the Espada cut himself on the hand and began charging a cero that seemed different. It was far more powerful, but Kaitou couldn't recognize it. Familiar but different...

He didn't have much time to consider this though, as the Arrancar used something which reminded Kaitou of his own abilities with the bloodied reiatsu surrounding the two of them, as his cero was causing massive destruction to the surrounding terrain.

"Use me."
I don't know how!
"Use me."
Tell me how!
"Use me."
How?
"USE ME."

Swinging his zanpakuto with all the force he could muster, Kaitou released embers which would move to clash with the blood, causing both to fall to the ground. He continued slashing, moving the embers he had left from before to shield him and continue blocking the blood, but there was so much of it and not enough embers to shield him from them all.

"Call me out. Visualize me without coming to me."
Manifest you?
"There's no time for proper training. You've read how to do this."
So I have to skip years of training in an instant?
"You've been training for this, you just didn't notice it."
Manifest you into my zanpakuto?

Kaitou's eyes lit up even more as the glow shifted to red. He was hit with a sudden grasp of knowledge surrounding his zanpakuto and smiled lightly as he spun around, the embers blocking the remaining blood, everything in the air falling to the ground except the two fighters.

"Show them no pity..." The reiatsu around him also began shifting in color, changing from blue to yellow. "...as you burn them." It continued shifting colors, now a bright orange. "Destroy what binds them together..." Kaitou's reiatsu was a solid red now, a stark difference from his original blue. "EXCALIBUR!"

A frightening pulse was emitted from Kaitou's every cell, covering his body in nearly solid reiatsu, which then exploded outwards and became what looked to be the same bladed embers he was producing by his swings earlier. His outfit had changed, now very red, which was reflected in his new hair color. His eyes stared over at Graven Fel, who was still charging his original attack. While he didn't know why, Kaitou knew he had something of similar strength, and held his now even more massive blade at a flat length away from him as it began to glow with the same reiatsu he already was.

"Admittedly... I'm not sure what I'm capable of now, Graven. I hope you dodge this, so this fight isn't over just yet." He spoke in a surprising monotone, his eyes glazed over as though he were bored with this fight now, rather than excited as he was before. As he was charging the attack, which he knew the name of as Spawn of Fire, Kaitou's embers began spreading out and were all sent at Graven, even without his hand movements.
technique log
Ability Name: [千炎怒り]Fury of a Thousand Flames
Ability Description: During Bankai, Kaitou emits a constant aura of flames, burning everything within 50 yards in any direction. Similar to how his Shikai worked, Kaitou produces 200 bladed embers per post while in Bankai, up to a maximum of 2,000, which can be redirected and controlled at will, without Kaitou having to do so manually. At this tier however, each ember is roughly as powerful as Hadō#16. While active, Kaitou has a +2 FAR bonus to Kido & Fire Defense, and a -2 FAR bonus to Physical, Ice & Water Defense.

Technique Name: [火災のスポーン]Spawn of Fire
Technique Description: Kaitou can create an addition 400 embers on his blade and release them with a swing. These embers will proceed up to 50m in the angle and direction swung, but will then react like normal embers. This ability has a 1 post charge time, and a 3 post cooldown.
